Geocache Description:

Cache Information

You are looking for a silver, magnetic, micro container, which only contains a log book.

This small park on the edge of Surrey Row is a prime spot for office workers taking lunch breaks, quiet and tranquil and slightly tucked away back from the hustle and bustle of Blackfriars Road. Entrance is via a gate in Surrey Row. This park is not wheelchair accessible to get to the cache location.

Currently there is a lot of demolition and redevelopment taking place on the opposite corner to this park, the corner use to have 'Imbibe' (A picture has now been uploaded to the gallery, along with a proposed photo of the new building when completed), alas the council have approved the complete demolition of the entire block to make way for a new 10 storey block with shops and residential housing. The 'Imbibe' restaurant is one of only two buildings that was around in Charles Dickens time.
Quote from Imbibe when it was trading:
The Bar is a unique venue with a beautiful, covered, secret garden, perfect for sipping mailbu hot chocolate, next to our roaring fire pit with roasting chestnuts. Our roof terrace has amazing views over the city and inside the bar we have a cosy fireplace and sumptuous sofas.

Alas this fantastic restaurant closed down in November 2013, see also the 'Related Web Page' news story.

Please take care when removing and replacing the cache, as this can be a high muggle traffic area, additionally the cache is located in a place where it can be awkward to retrieve and replace, so please take a little bit of extra care.
Finally, please let me know if there are any changes to the park or if the cache needs a maintenance check.

The park is maintained by Southwark Council and alas as C.O. I am not liable for its upkeep or condition, when setting the cache it was a pleasant garden and used by office workers.
If you have any complaints about litter or its condition please contact Southwark Council. Hopefully you can enjoy the garden and relax in its surroundings.

Congratulations to sidsefrank for the FTF - Well done!
