G_Fours finally puts out a cache! It's about time I got off my butt and put a cache out there. I've been finding too many excuses not to so as I approach my fifth year caching anniversary I'm getting it done. It is however a daunting task to find an open spot here in Ottawa so just to be safe I had two picked out. Even with multiple GZs ready to go I still had my fingers crossed, hoping for zero problems, as I hit the submit button. Despite my preparations I still ended up having to make at least nine adjustments to get this cache published. Needless to say its in there pretty tight. Perhaps so close to a few other caches that a more experienced puzzle finder might be able to predict the actual GZ by having the finals for three nearby puzzles, but I can only think of two cachers who might solve it this way.
As for the puzzle itself that was a hard choice. Caching has introduced my to so many interesting puzzles involving numbers. I thought I might make something involving prime numbers, maybe starting with lucky prime seven, then work back to five, then three. However primes can get pretty confusing so perhaps I should stick to some thing more in line with my six years of art school. I could also do something cool with cryptography, narrowed my cipher choices down to three, then abandoned that idea as I would like for more than eight finders on this cache. In the end I really wanted a simple puzzle to put out as my premier cache. I can't wait to read the found it logs, I figure after about six logs I should have a better idea how well it works.
Thanks to theF00L for beta testing.
