Part of the Haggis Highway trail and part of a series of events as shown below, please do not look for or log this cache before Friday 5th October. Thank you and happy caching from the Highland Haggi team.
To celebrate the creation of this section of the Haggis Highway events will take place on 5th, 6th and 7th October 2012. The events are as follows: Wick ~ Bar Blether GC3PQ71 - Friday 5th October from 19:00 Wick ~ Dinner GC3PQ89 - Saturday 6th October from 17:00 Dunbeath ~ Lunch GC3PQ8R - Sunday 7th October 10:00~12:00 To walk to this cache I parked at the Retail Park.....ample parking! This road if you keep walking will eventually take you to a monument called the Castle of Old Wick. The Castle of Old Wick was probably built by an earl of Caithness in the 1100s, making it one of the oldest castles in Scotland. It was built at a time when the kings of Norway held sway over Caithness and Sutherland, as well as the Northern and Western Isles. The pathway can be wet at times but nothing a good pair of hiking boots won't cope with. The cache is a micro container .
