I am the grounds keeper for Groby and I have introduced a series of geocaches to show people the hidden areas of our village. I will be adding more caches over time to produce a number of caches. I have decided to not number them as I will be placing them randomly around the parish of Groby. If you are hunting during a week day, you may come across me carrying out my duties. Feel free to say hello and introduce yourself.
This particular location is one of the older parts of the village. Granite used to be quarried out from this site and the large GE factory was the site of the original workings (hence the name Quarry Park). Over the years Groby built up from this activity into the village it is today. This section of woodlands marks the boundary of the National Forest.
I have noticed in the listings that people are parking on the A50, I would strongly reccomend that you don't. there is a blind summet for aproaching cars, just where you'll be pulling out. The best location is parking in the park it's self, accessable by going to the end of Forest Rise/Forest View, next to Martinshaw school.
You are looking for a 35mm film canister with localised camouflage. Pen/pencil required. Congratulations to the joint FTF by The Herds and Team Heidi
