This cache is part of the "To Cache A Murderer" Series, Ballenger Creek Trail edition, and centers around one of the suspects in the case. The full "whodunit?" is written up in
this final cache.

Mr. Peter Raines may have be raised on the ranch, but from the day he took his first steps, he craved more. Half a century later, he is still going strong. Pete through-hiked the AT--up and back--in four months flat, soloed Everest, and is working on a project to free climb the Empire State Building. There is no adventure that is beyond his reach.
Well, almost. A few local caches feature incredibly challenging terrain that even Raines has yet to conquer. He tried one once, ending up laid up for six weeks with a broken ankle. It caused him to miss the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, where he was set to become the first to win five titles in a row. Was he bitter? Yes. Absolutely, yes. I'm sure you can guess who was the CO for these vicious listings: the victim, Peyton Cash.
Investigating the scene, you show his picture to neighbors, joggers, and anyone else in the area. Finally, someone responds, "Yes! I saw him..."

Getting There... The parking coordinates are at the trailhead of a paved suburban trail, great for a leisurely walk or bike ride. The entire series should be less than two miles, round trip. Note the terrain rating for this one... you will likely get dirty, and maybe very muddy!
