This structure is designed with romanesque revival features and stone detailing above the windows. It looks like a fairy tale castle but the "hanging tower" tops it all. Across the street is the "Calaboose", the city jail. A lot of history here.
Many tales surround this jail including a man who claimed he could break out of any jail. He did but after a while turned himself in. Another tried to jump from the roof to the cottonwood tree (limbs were later trimmed). He slipped from a limb falling and breaking his hip,
