Geocache Description:

The great Sabine Creek delayed the westward migration of settlers from the east coast, when their wagon wheels became stuck in the glue-like red clay all along the river until the wagons were lined up in the middle of the river like stepping stones, and the river ran red like blood from the suspended clay in the water. The intrepid settlers were here introduced to the Caddo Indians whose famous leader was named "Red River" and thus the creek was named the Sabine Creek. For more of this phony baloney story, no part of which is true but hopefully funny, please refer to the sister cache "Sabine Creek #2."
