Geocache Description:

"And I looked, and behold, I saw a wondrous machine."

--author unknown, from ancient manuscript found at Qumran excavation site.

No one knows how the Machine came to be.

We know precious little about this hideous invention. We simply know that it IS, and that it appears at seemingly random times--unbeckoned and unwelcome. From prior unpleasant experiences, we also know that it originates "over there."

This spot marks the location where this infernal force lay ensconced, as it plotted an attack on humanity. Fortunately for us, someone intervened. Horace Smythe, reclusive dealer in antiquities, discovered the Machine's hideout. This discovery cost Smythe dearly; shortly after the discovery, "M" launched a cowardly attack on Smythe, sending him to the hospital--and almost to the morgue!

Although "M" has seemingly vacated this lair, Be ever vigilent! Remember--the Machine considers each of us expendable, and will not hesitate to eliminate anyone standing in its way. So, if you see any sign of "M" run for your life!

To those who pass this simple test of courage, you are ready to help Horace Smythe as he battles the Machine. Proceed at once to these adventures:

THE MACHINE: THE RETURN,

THE MACHINE: CHAPTER 2: A TEST FOR HUMANITY,
THE MACHINE: A SHOCKING REVELATION

Good luck, and Godspeed!
