This is a night cache! When I was in the C co 2/504 PIR my favorite training was land navigation. It’s no wonder I fell in love with the sport of Geocaching, The only difference is we now use a multimillion dollar satellite and GPS’R to find our way around instead of a two dollar map and compass.
Wikipedia says this about the infantryman.
Infantrymen are land based soldiers who are specifically trained for the role of fighting on foot to engage the enemy face to face and have historically borne the brunt of the casualties of combat in wars. As the oldest branch of combat arms, they are still the backbone of modern armies. Infantry units have more physically demanding training than other branches of armies, and place a greater emphasis on discipline, physical strength, fitness and spontaneous sustained aggression. The Infantryman himself, with or without his personal weapon is considered a weapon system.
Just like in the infantry this cache is going to test your skills; both technical and physical. you must first find the container. When you find it you will find coordinates and instructions on how to acquire the code to open the lock on the cache.
This is not an easy Cache. Night caches are full of surprises and the risk of injury is amplified ten fold in the dark. I would recommend bringing a good flash light. And bring a good back up light.
At the starting point you will find a 1959 ford truck fender sticking out of the ground inside is a container with instructions. At the next stage you are looking for an ammo can with a red reflector on the side. At each stage after that you are looking for a single number, each number is reflective to help you locate it. Once you have located all the numbers return to the cache and open it to sign the log and grab some swag. Sounds simple, or is it!
