En: When I was last in Berlin it was to promote an English Mega event, held in July 2012. It was a huge success (biggest English Mega since 2009, biggest ever first-time English Mega and... just really really fun!) and ever since, there has been a big question; where will the next Geolympix be held? There are talks about it being in Berlin, so I'm flying in for two days to meet some of the team looking to hold Berlin's first Mega event, based on the Geolympix 'challenges' model. I'm really looking forward to it! :)
I have a history of setting events in high places. Not only above London (see link above - a tower I'll be running up ten times in 100mins in March 2013!) but also on England's highest mountain, Wales' highest mountain and Scotland's (also Britain/UK's) highest mountain.
This Event:
Where: NOT the Fernsehturm tower visitor platform, 204m above the pavement and the highest event above ground level Germany has ever seen, as the entrance fee made this a commercial location. So, outside the front entrance to the tower instead.
When: Thursday October 18th 2012. 19:30-19:45 flashmob at the base (but you're also welcome to join me between 20:00-21:00 205m further up)
Who: Any Geocacher with/without a head for heights!
Why: Because it's a cool spot to view a beautiful city from, but also from below, looking up, this tower is a stunning sight. Caching takes you to places you've never visited before - perhaps you've never had a reason to climb the Fernsehturm? The good news is you don't have to in order to attend this flashmob meet.
How: By bicycle, on foot or via the metro system. The tower is close to Alexanderplatz station. Afterwards, if you plan to join me higher up, I suggest you take the lift. I'd prefer to take the stairs (I'm a champion UK tower runner. In 2013 I'll be trying to set a Guiness World Record again by climbing over 1Km [6+ times up a 165m tower] up in under an hour, and carrying on to 10x - 1650m; over a vertical mile in under 100 mins..! However, I'm not allowed to take the stairs here :(
No-pay option: To comply with Groundspeak rules on paying to enter a cache/event location, the event is now the loggable FlashMob, at the times above, by the front entrance to the tower, infront of the Pavillon at Fernsehturm's base. You can't miss me; English accent, tall, bald, holding an ancient yellow Etrex :)

DE: Als ich war zuletzt in Berlin es war die Förderung einer englische Mega-Event, im Juli 2012 statt. Es war ein großer Erfolg (der größte englische Mega seit 2009, größte jemals erstmals englische Mega und... wirklich nur wirklich Spaß!), und seitdem gab es eine große Frage; wo findet die nächste 'Geolympix' statt? Es gibt Gespräche über es in Berlin, so dass ich für zwei Tage, um das Team, die schauen, um Berlins erste Mega-Event, basierend auf dem Geolympix "Herausforderungen"-Modell halten treffen in Fliege. Warum: weil es einen kühlen Ort, um eine schöne Stadt aus zu sehen, aber auch von unten, Blick nach oben, dieser Turm einen atemberaubenden Anblick ist. Bringt Zwischenspeicherung Sie an Orte, die Sie nie besucht haben, bevor - vielleicht Sie nie einen Grund zu Fernsehturm Klettern gehabt haben? Die gute Nachricht ist, Sie nicht zu verfügen, um diese Flashmob treffen. besuchen

Option No-bezahlen: zur Einhaltung von Groundspeak-Bestimmungen über Zahlen, um einen Cache/Event-Location, geben das Ereignis ist die loggable FlashMob zu den Zeiten oben von dem vorderen Eingang zum Turm, im Pavillon an der Fernsehturm Basis infront. Du vermissen nicht mich; Englisch Akzent, groß, Kahl, hält einen alten gelben Etrex :)
