A cache with a view, and a view to a kill.
At the top of a hill overlooking Schawpark golf course, at the juncture of three woods: Hamilton Wood, Coalpots Wood, and Octagon Wood. You can approach from one of the surfaced paths through the woods, or come up the main path through the golf course. The paths meet at a junction right at the top of the hill in front of the Scottish Water reservoir. From here, on a clear day you can see the Wallace Monument to the West, the Clackmannanshire and Kincardine Bridges to the South, and the hillfoots to the North. Even on a foggy day the view makes me smile, with the Ochils poking up through the cloud layers.
Parking is available in Fishcross or at Gartmorn Dam visitor's centre. The paths are accessible on foot, by bicycle and on horseback. If approaching through the golf course please keep to the marked paths, watch out for flying golf balls and please keep animals under control.
The cache is a regular size lock'n'lock type container with room for plenty of swaps.
