School Days - Into the Wood Traditional Cache

A circular walk around Hollins and offers a chance to collect clues for the School Days Bonus.

A circular walk around Hollins near Unsworth, where I grew up and was privileged to be a guinea pig when Unsworth Comprehensive School was opened now known as Castlebrook High School and was the first Comprehensive School in the borough against a great deal of controversy at the time.

There are several places that you could start from but be prepared for a few steps, stiles and a bit of mud after wet weather, which unfortunately means some caches are not wheel chair friendly . Most of the walk is on flat tracks and lanes some of which are cobbled, but part of Hollins Vale section has steps and a stile to overcome. Some of the caches will contain clues to the School Days Bonus Cache, collect these and work out the coordinates for the bonus cache that is not far away.
Part of the route takes you through Hollins Vale Nature Reserve and Permission to place the caches here has been granted by the local Ranger.
