We have had this ammo can geocache since we went to the Aussie mega event in April, but have never found anywhere big enough to hide it.
A planned walk in the Hunuas woud surely offer some good hiding places worthy of an ammo can?
Cache contains the usual trinkets, log book, pencil, and a FTF badge for keeps.
located off the Suspension Bridge track, near an awesome looking lookout. Steep steps up to the platform promising fabulous views...you'd think?
well not really! so many tall trees have robbed the view... not much to see after all but a good feeling of elevation. So if you're disappointed with the view, there's always that nice big geocache to find nearby!
if you carry on, you can join the Wairoa loop track and pick up some more caches.
the walk is steep in places, with lots of up and downs, and nice views out over the reservoir en route.
the cache is located near to the lookout. please re cover well
