Deze cache draait om de locatie. Hij is eenvoudig te bereiken en te vinden.
De grootste moeilijkheid zit hem in je zichtbaarheid op deze plek. Met name in de zomer en met mooi weer stikt het hier van de bootjes, voetgangers, fietsers en bezoekers aan restaurant de Riva. Oppassen dus! :-)
Historie
Al jaren lang stond dit restaurant in het bestemmingsplan. Het kwam er alleen nooit. Tot begin 2012...
Ondanks het nodige protest van buurtbewoners die hun rust, uitzicht en parkeergelegeheid zagen verdwijnen is uiteindelijk dit bijzondere pand op palen uit de grond gestampt op de oevers van de Amstel
In de buurt van een even zo bijzondere locatie als ´Half Elf Blookertijd´ (GC260B0), ligt dit, door architect Cees Dam ontworpen, restaurant van dezelfde eigenaar als restaurant Dauphine, dat aan de andere kant van het Amstelstation is gelegen aan het Prins Bernhardplein. Hij ontwierp zo ongeveer de gehele buurt. Bijvoorbeeld de ronde appartementen met een panoramisch vrij uitzicht over Amsterdam en de Amstel "De Staalmeesters" genaamd, zijn eveneens gebouwd onder zijn architectuur.
HEYLIGERS design + projects verzorgde het interieur van De Riva. Van binnen waan je je direct aan het water door het vele glas dat is gebruikt. Met mooi weer zit je echter het mooist op het drijvende terras zelf.
Beleving
Met mooi weer kun je hier genieten van alle bootjes die voorbij varen. Als je zelf met de boot bent, dan kun je op de cachelocatie aanmeren en van een drankje genieten op het terras of gewoon aan wal op een van de stenen banken. Let wel op. Het gedeelte bij de cache is vrij ondiep. Let dus op dat je niet vast komt te zitten.
Parkeren
Mocht je deze cache met de auto willen bezoeken denk er dan om dat je, met uitzondering van zondag, moet betalen om te parkeren. Er wordt vrij streng gecontroleerd dus neem vooral het zekere voor het onzekere.
Extra wandeling en beleving
Mocht je na deze cache nog behoefte hebben aan een leuke wandeling, wandel dan van de Riva langs de Amstel in noordelijke richting. Zodra je de Berlagebrug aan de Mr. Treublaan bent gepasseerd volgt een enorm leuk stuk langs de Amstel waar gedurende het jaar, met name in het weekend, diverse roeiverenigingen actief zijn. Je passeert diverse leuke restaurantjes met dito terrasjes aan het water. Vooral Café Hesp is populair. In de zomer stikt het hier van de bootjes met barbecueënde mensen. Er is een jeux de boule locatie en gewoonweg veel gezelligheid.
Al met al... valt er hier genoeg te beleven.

This cache is all about the location. It’s easy to reach and to find.
The biggest trouble is that a lot of muggles can see you at this spot. Especially in summer time and with nice weather this place can get busy. You will see a lot of boats, pedestrians, cyclists and visitors to restaurant the Riva.
So… be cautious! :-)
History
For years this restaurant stood in the zoning plan. However it never came. Till the beginning of 2012…
In the end, in spite of protest of the local residents which experience a loss of rest, view and parking availability, this particular building on piles was generated on the Amstel shore.
Nearby a likewise special location as ´Half Elf Blookertijd´ (GC260B0) lies this restaurant, designed by architect Cees Dam. It belongs to the same owner as Dauphine situated at the other side of the Amstelstation on the Prins Bernhardplein. He designed just about the entire neighborhood. For example, the round apartments with panoramic views over Amsterdam and Amstel "The Staalmeesters" called, are also built under his architecture.
HEYLIGERS design + projects provided the Interior of the Riva. From inside, you imagine yourself directly to the water by the many glass that is used. With nice weather however you're best of on the floating terrace.
perception
With nice weather you can enjoy all the boats sailing by. If you’re arriving on a boat yourselve you can moor at the cache location and enjoy a drink on the terrace or just ashore on one of the stone benches. Note that the portion at the cache location is pretty shallow. So don't get stuck!
Parking
If you want to visit this cache by car be aware you have to pay to park your car, except for Sundays. There´s a strict surveillance so don´t take the risk not paying.
Extra walk and perception
If you llike a nice walk afterword’s , just walk along the Amstel in a northerly direction. Once you passed the Berlagebridge at the Mr. Treublaan a nice piece of boulevard follows where throughout the year, especially in the weekend, several rowing clubs are active. You will pass several nice restaurants with ditto terraces at the waterside. Especially ‘Café Hesp’ is popular. In the summer it’s totally crowded with boats over here and a lot of people are barbecuing then. Also there is a jeu de boules location and simply much conviviality.
In the end ... There is enough to experience here.
