Geocache Description:

This is the seventh in a series that introduce you to vocabulary words I've developed to describe things.  These phrases or words are amalgamations or abbreviations such as: vocabulary + cache = "VOCACHEULARY"!

"Pinger"

Pronounced PING-ER

This word is an amalgamated abbreviation of the commonly used phrase "park and grab".  The word pinger is loosly associated with sonar and radar modalities, where a pulse of sound or EM is emitted at a target, and an echo is immediately received back to the transmitter providing echolocation information.  Culturally speaking, many of us have played the video game Pong which illustrates this action in super slow motion. Also, a computer tech may 'ping' another computer to establish communication. You get the idea, these pings are quick, like a P&G cache.  A Pinger is a cache that you could park your vehicle right close to, and quite literally take only a couple of minutes to find.  Often times, the container is in the very first spot you looked at.  Examples of pingers are, but not limited to, lamp-skirt hides and guard rail hides.

BONUS POINTS:  Use "pinger" in your log for park-and-grab caches!
