Waterfront Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cookie & Bruiser: We named this cache and placed it before the official "Waterfront Park" opened up to the north across from the Star of India. Since this cache is now missing, and to avoid name confusion, we have decided to archive it. We will be placing a new cache here soon.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the newly-dedicated Ruocco Park on the San Diego waterfront between the Midway and Seaport Village.  This beautiful public park was named for the late Lloyd and Ilse Ruocco, a prominent San Diego couple, who had established a trust fund to help develop San Diego parks.

At the entrance to the park at West Harbor Drive and Pacific Highway is a wonderful public art installation by Roman de Salvo featuring suspended eucalyptus branches.  There are green areas, plenty of "sculptural" benches and lampposts, well-done cement paths, and views of the waterfront.

There is some metered parking nearby (free on Sundays).  The waterfront end of the park blends into the sidewalk running between the Midway and Seaport Village.  The park is open from 6 AM to 10:30 PM.

Because of the openness of the area and the many muggles in the park and walking by, you'll need your best stealth mode to protect the cache.  FTF $
