Geocache Description:

For locals Donkey Camp is a popular fishing spot just outside of Katherine, about half way between the town and the famous Nitmiluk Gorge.
Every year at the end of the tropical wet season Donkey Camp makes headlines around Northern Australia when rangers pull huge saltwater crocodiles from traps in the area.

Small cache, with parking close by.
BYO pen please, no room for swaps.

Due to high water levels - and the risk of salties - Donkey Camp is closed for visitors during the Wet, but the cache is located out of the danger zone.
Access from Gorge Road is via a short dirt road - good for 2WD and caravans, with parking available near GZ. The road goes through private property, but access to Donkey Camp and the cache is permitted.
During the Dry go for a stroll down to the river, but as with most Top End caches watch out for native animals including snakes, spiders and crocs.
While in the area, don't forget to find the other caches along Gorge Road, including Tickets Please, Mother in Law and Bombing of Katherine - and of course all the beautiful caches at Nitmiluk Gorge.
