Geocache Description:

The premise for this hide is very simple, in order to log the cache your number of finds plus your number of hides within Jefferson Memorial Forest must be equal to or greater than 100 and you need to sign the physical log. Over the past couple years I have spent quite a bit of time wandering the hills, trails, many deer trails and sometimes no trails in this remarkable natural resource that is so readily available to the local caching community. This is nature at its finest. Very little litter to be found (remember CITO), natural formations that are not adorned with spray paint, low muggle traffic, just the sounds of the forest. Are there bugs - sure. Are there briers - sure. Are there hills - sure. Lace up your hiking boots use a little insect repellent and come on out. Every time that I log a cache out here it amazes me the few signatures on the logs. If your not one of those signatures I have seen you don't know what you are missing. Come on out and give it a try - I promise that you will be back. There are over 300 active caches in the forest right now. All you need is 1/3 of them to qualify for this cache. You can document this accomplishment by simply stating your number of finds and hides in your log. For instance as of today I have 171 finds in JMF and 10 hides for a total of 181 caches. I spend enough time out here that I have a good idea who has already qualified and who is close. I have no intention of playing cache police but I will be reviewing the found logs and if I have any questions will contact you for clarification. Caches come and caches go and for this challenge they all count. Archived caches that were previously found are perfectly acceptable. Don't waste your time looking for a trail there just isn't one. This cache is about .17 from the nearest departure point on the Siltstone trail but chose you own route. Believe the terrain rating is fair and an average of the three routes that I used to approach and depart from this GZ. But if you have 100 caches out here you really shouldn't mind (yuck, yuck). If it was not for the challenge requirements the difficulty rating on this cache would be a 2. You are seeking a 30 cal ammo can with a few trade items, log book, and a little something for the FTF. I forgot to put a pen in so bring your own writing utensil. This cache has been averaged 200 times to within 8 feet. With the cover your results may vary so generous hints are being provided.
