Geocache Description:

The Mayan Calendar (or Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar) is a cyclic calendar that consists of sets of numbers. For example 8.3.2.10.15 represents 8 baktuns, 3 katuns, 2 tuns, 10 unials and 15 days after the creation of the calendar (Similar to the calendar we use today; 10.29.2009). In the Mayan calendar, December 21, 2012 (in Gregorian calendar) is represented by 13.0.0.0.0, which is a new millennium in the Mayan calendar, rather than the end of the calendar. You will probably remember similar hoaxes when we entered in a new millennium (in Gregorian calendar) almost 10 years ago.
