Geocache Description:

A bush geocache place in the far eastern end of Blaxland

Back when I begun searching for locations to hide geocaches, this area of bush land of the first area I begun to explore. I begun looking about along the fire trails just to the south, however I finished up walking back through these faint bush tracks back towards the car. It turns out that these tracks weren't for walkers. In fact, they used to be downhill mountain bike runs. Evidence to this adventure of the past are the old abandoned makeshift short wooden bridges and platforms to past over the trickiest pieces of terrain. Some of these platforms are still there but rotten away or broken or no longer sit on the track. I believe such activites of downhill mountian bike riding have since being prohibited in the area. In the hunt for this geocache, you will need to follow the old tracks and see how full of energy and adrenaline these past mountain bike riding would have needed to past through such tricky terrain.

Geocache Information: Start this bush walk from the end of Gosling Street in Emu Heights. From there, follow the bush track down to the creek, then take the track going straight rather steep up the hill. Shortly after, you will come to a fork in the track, take the lower track and that will lead you along to the cache. The tracks are a bit faint in places but you should be able to follow it enough to get you there. When you near the cache co-ordinates, the terrain gets a little tricky, be careful and senseible and you should be alright and watch out for snakes in the warmer months of the year, as with any bush cache you should do in the Blue Mountains. The cache may be a little tricky to get to but is not far from the track and is a lovely little spot in the bush land. At the cache co-ordinates, you may be able to see through to the suburbs to the east. Enjoy the bush walk and be safe.

Happy Caching
