Colatio Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cenarius: Hi Rakun74,

Unfortunately there's been some continuing issues with this cache and there is no reaction from the owner. Since the cache no longer meets the Guidelines requirements, I am archiving it. I'm also archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you think you have legitimate reasons for lack of maintenance and want to restore the cache in the near future, please let me know as soon as possible by the email provided in my profile. The message must include the GC code and the name of the cache. If the cache meets the requirements of the Guidelines and the reasons for unarchiving are justified, I may unarchive the cache.

IMPORTANT:
In case of permanent archiving of the cache, the owners are obliged to remove everything that they have placed on the field in relation to the cache (container and all placed waypoints).

Thank you for your understanding and best regards.

Geocache Description:

Cache is dedicated to Roman settlement Collatio (1.st century). It is hidden outside from inner circle of arheological site. Do not make damage or move stones on the ground!

Odkopane so bile štiri stavbe in domnevni svetiščni prostor. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROman settlment Colatio belonged to the administrative area of the city Celeia and the rise experienced at the time of the Emperor Claudius. The importance of that place was greater in the reign of Emperor Hadrian, who reorganized the postal services and care for urban progress. The town was founded by the postal station on the road Celeia-Virunom. Big boom is the place experienced during Septimius Severus. In addition to this the mail station were still Upellae, today Vitanje and Iuenna, today Globasnica in Podjuna. Growth of settlements Colatio as the military post, market and transport station is due to the favorable location along the Roman road that connected Celeia and Virunum to Zollfeld. After the annexation of Noricum to Rome in the year 46 AD, the post got the important role of the regional administrative center and Celeia, which at the time included the territory up to the top of Pohorje, Karavanke and Savinjske mountains, to the line of lithium-substations and the surrounding Slovenska Bistrica. Colatio was 29 miles away Celeia and 45 miles away from Virunum. There were found four buildings and the alleged sanctuary space. The discovery of the Roman settlement and associated cemetery Colatio was made by Hans Winkler, who in 1909-1912 excavated foundations of houses in the settlement. The cemetery lies on flat ground slightly to the south of Stari trg, near roundabout. Vir/source: http://sciget.com/Predogled/3808/4ed15bd09f50b1d5d1311dca318c7da48f45ce9d
