While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

The Ecclesia Catholica of St. Peter in Halden is placed smack in the middle of the centre of the northern part of town. This catholic church is somewhat architecturally mis-shaped, as the dutch architect Albert Cuipers who designed it in the 1870es was told that the town had 10000 citizens - but then he forgot that Norway is a protestant country so he designed a church four times the size of this one. That's why it looks a bit chopped of in the edges. The church was inaugurated on october 10, 1877

Another story that I have been unable to confirm is that the Vatican mixed up Fredrikstad and Fredrikshald (Haldens old name) when they were budgeting for the church. Fredrikstad is a much bigger town than Halden, so they budgeted a lot bigger than they had to.

The cache is log-only, and you must bring your own pen.
