Welcome to the MAD Cachers' Tea Party!
A challenging little multi in the park, originally set up for an event cache. (MAD Cachers' Tea Party)
Annie Wood Park was created on land donated by Senator Ian Alexander Christie Wood AO, in honour of his mother, Annie.
At Waymark I, the monument to Senator Wood, answer the following qustions:
a) How many terms did Ian Wood serve as Mayor of Mackay?
b) In which year did Ian Wood Become a Senator?
At Waymark II, at the end of the first footbridge, you will see a sign on your right.
c) What is the phone number of the DPI&F?
d)How many 2lt plastic milk bottles were used to create the park bench on your left?
At Waymark III, the playground,
e) How many rocks are on the rock climbing wall?
f) How many slides are there?
g) How many balls are there?
h) What is the date the playground equipment was manufactured?
At Waymark IV, the locked gate at the end of the walkway exiting into Annie Wood Drive,
i) What is the phone number on the padlock for the Locksmith?
Now with this information, it is time for a little bit of mathematics to find the co-ordinates of the cache.
Q = the first digit of d
R = add all the digits of c then divide by f
S = the last digit of i
X = the month of h
Y = last digit of b divided by a
Z = g - e
The cache can be found at S 21° 07.QRS E 149° 09.XYZ
Now proceed to S 21° 07.063 E 149° 09.939 which is the start of the uphill track. It is fairly steep, about 1 metre vertically for 2 metres horizontal. Not suitable for small children, bikes or prams. At the top of the hill, bear to the right and follow the track under the trees. GZ should be fairly obvious as you approach it.
