Geocache Description:

The cache is one of 18 caches placed for the RiverRocks GeoTrail Challenge. This cache is an easy find on a moderate hike in the Patten Parcel, a recent acquisition of the North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy. The trail leads to the headwaters of North Chickamauga Creek.

If you are up for some old school geocaching, this challenge is for you! Take a hike down an old road bed into the North Chickamauga Creek Gorge until you reach the creek. This is the very beginning of North Chickamauga Creek which soon begins a rapid descent toward the valley floor and the Tennessee River. Eventually the Cumberland Trail will follow the creek through this area.

When you reach the creek, head upstream. You will have to do some bushwhacking to get to the cache but nothing too awful. Your GPSr make be a little flaky so use your geosense to find this ammo box.

Find this geocache as one of 15 required of the 18 RiverRocks caches and earn a geocoin.

For Rules to get your free geocoin see the RiverRocks GeoTrail Challenge.

Take a picture of yourself holding the ammo box so that the initials on the side can be seen and post on the cache page. Or, if you prefer, email your picture to us or you can take one of the tickets in the ammo box as your proof of visit.

After completing the Challenge, show up at the RiverRocks Finale to collect your FREE Geocoin. Only 100 were made so don't dally!

CONGRATULATIONS TO FLAGG2007 FOR FTF!
