Die Zelle des Telefons

 

Diese Cache-Serie ist der guten alten Telefonzelle gewidmet, der das Handy zwar den Rang abgelaufen hat, die sich aber trotzdem noch behaupten kann und das Erscheinungsbild vieler Orte und Plätze prägt.
 
Die erste Telefonzelle Österreichs wurde 1903 auf dem Wiener Südbahnhof errichtet. Jahrzehnte lang boten Telefonhäuschen die einzige Möglichkeit unterwegs zu telefonieren. Mit dem Aufkommen des Mobiltelefons seit den 90er Jahren hat die Telefonzelle allerdings zunehmend an Bedeutung verloren und viele sahen bereits das Ende der Telefonhäuschen-Zeit heran brechen.
Doch aller Totsagungen zum Trotz, steht nach wie vor in jeder Gemeinde Österreichs mindestens eine Telefonzelle. Da die Telekom Austria (Nachfolger der „Post- und Telegraphenverwaltung“) per Verordnung verpflichtet ist an 19.000 Standorten Telefonzellen zu betreiben, gibt es immer noch mehr als 22.000 Telefonhäuschen in Österreich.
Die Nutzer heutzutage sind allerdings hauptsächlich Handybesitzer mit leerem Akku, Kinder und Jugendliche ohne Handyguthaben und vor allem Touristen.

Die Serie „Die Zelle des Telefons“ umfasst aktuell 6 Traditional Caches unterschiedlicher Größe und Bauart. Alle „Behälter“ sind ausnahmslos IN den Zellen angebracht, aber da nicht alle Platz für ein Schreibgerät bieten, bitte selber eines mitbringen.
Bitte die „Behälter“ mit Vorsicht zu behandeln und immer wieder an exakt derselben Stelle anbringen.

 
 ACHTUNG: Der Logstreifen befindet sich im Deckel!

For several decades phone boxes have been the only and/or most effective means of communication between the people are survived through some harsh times of poor weather and vandalism. However, since the 90s, with the advent of the mobile phone, the telephone box has lost more and more of its’ importance and many have already seen the end of the telephone booth-time.
Nevertheless, there are still among 22.000 call boxes in Austria. According to the terms of a contract, the “Austrian Telekom” is bound to run at least one phone booth per municipal.
 
Because of their sentimental and cultural value, I have decided to dedicate a series of caches to some phone boxes left standing in Schruns.

“Die Zelle des Telefons” is a set of 6 simple, traditional caches with no extreme hides (although I guess that is a matter of opinion). They are all of different sizes and some are not your average style of container.
All containers are to be found INSIDE the phone boxes. Don’t forget to bring your own pen!
Please always return exactly to original location as this holds the cache nicely and keeps it Muggle proof. Be careful not to drop it when replacing. 
Please notice: the logbook can be found in the lid of the container!
