Geocache Description:

YOU MUST SIGN THE LOG AND RETURN THE CACHE AS FOUND TO CLAIM CREDIT. You are looking for a camoed pill bottle. Although muggled numerous times, I still like the location and the view. I have now changed the type hide and terrain rating. It's no longer hidden on the ground under rocks. If you find it hidden in that manner let me know immediately. Enjoy the view and the challenge. Cache has been approved by the Hot Springs Parks Department Permit #17.

The property for this new city park was donated to the city of Hot Springs by the Entergy corporation. At one time this property was a small company owned neighborhood housing the operations staff for the Carpenter Dam hydro electric facility. The dam was completed in 1932. My wife remembers visiting school friends there in the 70's. As you walk around the property you will still find some of the house foundations, sidewalk steps, and at one time the concrete foundation for the old water tank. That tank was the location of a benchmark, EJ1954. The benchmark was on the side of the tank which was removed years ago.

Construction of the park started at the end of 2004.  It has been a community affair with donations from many people and companies.  Prior to becoming a park, George and I would bushwhack thru the area to
find the thousands of daffodils that were growing around the old home sites. We took a sampling of many of the different kinds of daffodils. If we had known how many would be covered up by the road we could have saved many more. Parts of the new roadwork and the playground covered some of the best flower areas. But not all of them! It is still interesting to see what flowers will appear in the spring.   To me a funny aspect is that now George is planting new plants and flower beds in the park as part of her Master Gardener activities.
