Le pont de Bellecombe:

Construction Romane du XIIeme, On sait que vers 1250 les Sires de Faucigny,puissante famille dont le pouvoir s'étendit jusqu'a l'Isère, entreprirent la construction d'une ligne de postes fortifiés le long de l'Arve(torent).Ainsi s'eleva le poste de Bellecombe et le chateau de Boringe (et autre,Pollinge,Crédoz ...). Sa tour carrée, six mètres sur six conçu pour la défense : impossible d'y pénétrer autrement que par une échelle de corde. La configuration des lieux rendait la petite forteresse imprenable, sa garnison "tassée" dans une promiscuité médiéviale. La tour comportait trois niveau dont les caves.
Du haut des vestiges de la tour, on aperçois Genève.

En 1591, survint la catastrophe, Dans les guerres qui précédèrent "l'escalade" de Genève,les genevois appuyés par les français assiégèrent, prirent et brulèrent Borringe et Bellecombe. La résistance fut impossible !!!!!

Ces édifices du XIIIeme siecle n'étaient pas conçus pour résister à l'artillerie. Borringe ne s'en relevera pas et Bellecombe, de justesse ......
