There are now roughly three dozen caches on the I-275 Bike Trail north of Eight Mile to the northern end. Heading south to Hines Drive there are more than a dozen caches and room for maybe two dozen more. This is one of a set of four between Eight Mile Road and Seven Mile Road to fill in that section. As with the section north, I am naming them after bicycle manufacturers. This cache is named after Sunbeam. Sunbeam was a British manufacture that began producing bicycles in 1887. They also manufactured motorcycles. The Sunbeam car company was a separate but related company.
This is intended to be a Ride & Grab cache. The cache container is a small camo painted bison tube. You will need a log extractor. Please bring your own pencil or pen.
I have found that a quick and simple log extraction tool can be made from a small paperclip. Straighten one end out. Grab just a small portion (maybe 1/32 of an inch or 1 millimeter) with a long-nose or needle-nose pliers then bend it at a right angle. I have attached one to the cache you can use. Please leave it for the next person.
