Pioneer Park in Denham was opened on 28/05/1980 and is dedicated to the pioneers of Shark Bay.
This park was the original graveyard for the area and there is still 1 grave remaining.
Denham is the most westerly town in Australia and is named after Capt. Henry Mangles Denham who chartered the bay in 1858 in the HMS Herald.
Captain Denham left his mark in the cliff face at Eagle Bluff. A section of this rock was retrieved and relocated to Pioneer Park
The park has some very interesting old memorably as well as a memorial comprising a granite obelisk mounted on a brick base to remember those who served their country. The park has also great views of the bay, Dirk Hartog Island and Useless Loop.
There is a nice sheltered area but no facilities, but there are public toilets and a number of cafes nearby.
Please respect this site at all times.
The cache you are looking for is a camouflaged small pill container with room for very small swaps only, bring your own pencil. The GC is not hidden in or on a historical object and there is NO need to dismantle objects or unscrew anything. Please retrieve carefully and replace as found.
Well done Outhavinfun, congratulations with your FTF. We are glad you enjoyed the park and the hunt! Photos are welcome but please NO SPOILERS
