Geocache Description:

A large micro cache hidden at roughly the point of mile 26 of the Edinburgh marathon in 2012

There's a saying in long distance running that goes:

At mile 20, I thought I was dead
At mile 23, I wished I was dead
At mile 26, I realised I was too tough to kill

I power walked the Edinburgh marathon in 2012 to raise money for charity. My expereince of it was somehing like this:

At mile 20, I was sure I'd been walking for 50 miles
At mile 23, I wondered if I could hitch a lift back with someone
At mile 26, I didn't have the energy left to even cry from the relief of finishing the torture walk, and certainly didn't have the energy left to walk the half mile home!

But I have done another marathon since then, and more are planned, so it can't have been that bad!

You don't need to walk 26 miles to find this, but you could if you wanted to I did a lot of my training along the East Lothian and Edinburgh coast, and it's a lovely area.
