This cache is placed at a lookout not far from our house and right next to the Hervey Range Heritage Tearooms.
We were brought to this great viewpoint by Geocaching a few years ago. Since then, the cache has been archived due to muggle activity. The cache was called Lookout for Trains (GCW84N) and it was hidden by Map Monkey.
The lookout gives you a great view of the city of Townsville as well as the decommissioned railroad leading out from Yabulu. When you are at the lookout, you are standing almost above the entrance to a tunnel. It is a beautiful place to visit.
However, we recommend that you bring long pants and some water. The cache is a small black sistema container with space for some swaps and tbs/gcs.
To get to the cache, drive in to Thornton's Gap Road. Follow this down until just before the tea rooms, where you will see the Hervey Range Telstra exchange. Park as close to the exchange as possible and then follow your gps.
