In 1735 wordt de toren van de Kloveniersdoelen door de bliksem getroffen en ten gevolge van de zware schade geheel afgebroken.
Tussen 1878 en 1795 is de Kloveniersdoelen eigendom van de Oost-Indische Compagnie.
In 1795 wordt de Kloveniersdoelen ingericht als militair hospitaal na een inval van de Franse Revolutielegers.
In 1968 vindt een grondige restauratie plaats. De toren herrijst en de topgevel wordt vernieuwd. Van 1975 tot 1984 was in de Kloveniersdoelen de Provinciale Muziekbibliotheek gehuisvest
In 1984 vonden het Zeeuws Kunstenaars Centrum (ZKC) en de Vereniging Jeugd en Muziek Zeeland (later Nieuwe Muziek Zeeland genoemd) er huisvesting. Gedurende deze periode werden er concerten en tentoonstellingen in de Kloveniersdoelen georganiseerd en werd er volop tegen betaling alcohol geschonken in de bar.

The Kloveniersdoelen is a monument to Pottenbakkerssingel, opposite the Middelburgse Langeviele. It was built in the period 1607-1611. The Goals was the rehearsal of the Gorges Irish (archer members by bus shots). During the French period (from 1795 to 1957)it was a military hospital. It was recently announced that Cinema Middelburg in the building will settle.
