A cache to commemorate my remembering where to turn.
It all began in 2004, when I brought 2 of my kids here. I got a week off, with no testosterone in the house! Total Bliss. The bonus was that they had fun. Each year they made more friends, and had fun.....and so did my husband and I. Trips to Lincoln City the evening we dropped them off. Restaurant dinners without a rush because the kids had gotten bored. Watching movies that we wouldn't let them watch with us. Late dinners, and later bedtimes.
And then they got to high school. An opportunity to have 5 more days of freedom (I mean peace and quiet!) and who was I to stop them from hanging out with their friends again! So, I made the drive two more times, usually missing the turnoff, much to their amusement.
Much has come out of this experience over the years. My boys have developed some awesome friendships, this place is like a second home to them, one determined that he was going to Boise Bible College because of going here, and we all developed a tradition of having Pronto Pups and hand scooped Tillamook Ice Cream Shakes in Otis on the way home from camp. And I finally learned where to turn off this year, now that I don't need to know it anymore. Oh Well, it's created some fun laughs over the years.
This cache is a simple lock and lock hidden in an easy to find spot with a good sized parking area. RV's should be fine, watch the kids because of the traffic and most importantly, Don't miss the turn off! And after getting this, visit the Vista point which looks down on the camp and grab the cache there also. It's one of the first ones I found when I started geocaching.
