Newton Solney is located adjacent to the River Trent in South Derbyshire on the B5008 between Repton and Burton-on-Trent. It is a medium sized village with a population of about 700 and 530 registered electors. There is an infant school, a shop, a church, a village hall, a recreational field, two pubs and a hotel. Newton Solney can trace its history back to the 10th century.
The recommended parking is in the heart of the village so please drive slowly and carefully. It can be a popular spot with muggles, especially kids from one side and muggle dog walkers on the other, although you should be able to get some cover when visiting this.
A short walk across a playing field/football pitch (matches usually on Sunday mornings !) makes this difficult for wheelchair access I'm afraid.
A lovely scenic spot, even if I say so myself and there's loads of good swag in there. Well worth a visit !
