Geocache Description:

This series of river crossing caches is designed to highlight the beautiful rivers of Delta County.  Whether they're aglow with color in the fall, frozen over in winter, rushing and bank-full in spring, or calmly flowing through green landscapes in summer, these rivers are always beautiful.

The Escanaba is the largest river in Delta County and the river channel is quite broad.  Like many of the area’s rivers, the Escanaba flows across the limestone bedrock with bedrock ledges forming many of the riffles.

While many people are aware that Delta County’s Little and Big Bay de Noc are the home of a world-class walleye fishery, fewer realize that many of the rivers and streams support trout.  When we were placing this cache, we saw a fly-fisher trying to tempt some trout.

Several dams generate hydroelectricity.  The Boney Falls Dam is just over a mile upstream.
