This place originated by some Swedes that worked in Detroit and wanted a place to go "up north". Well 100+ years later, it still exists and our family tree has roots going way back then and currently do today. It was an only Swedish community up until the last decade. Anyone can live there but the Swedish heritage lives on and is promoted through festivals and other celebrations at the pavilion. The old Swedes would comment about other rival Scandinavians such as the Fins from Finland. Hence the title. Skol!
