The fourth in a series celebrating something that most of us loved as children, and something that Karcossa still loves: Comics
"This gleefully scruffy, booze-hounding, kangaroo-bonking, military vehicle-loving Mad Max reject was the late '90s star of Deadline comic and an ill-fated movie. Her appeal was almost entirely driven by artist Jamie Hewlett's surreal, sexy, freewheeling imagination. In other hands she's fared poorly, but for while she was comics' biggest star." Matt Bielby
A British character appearing in the debut issue of Deadline in 1988, the strip continue to appear untill the magazines end in 1995. Tank Girl undertook a series of missions for a nebulous organization before making a serious mistake and being declared an outlaw for her sexual inclinations and her substance abuse. The comic centred on her misadventures with her boyfriend, Booga, a mutant kangaroo. The comic's style was heavily influenced by punk visual art, and strips were frequently deeply disorganized, anarchic, absurdist and psychedelic. The strip had very little regard or interest for conventional plot or committed narrative, and was initially set in a stylized post apocalyptic Australia, although it drew heavily from contemporary British pop culture.
The cache is a magnetic nano.
