Beaver Creek "Oh, Dam!" Multi-Cache
tlsharpe1: Due to the apparent lack of interest of attempting this BIG multi-stage cache, and the difficulty in keeping it maintained... I pulled all of the stages & removed them from their hides today. So now I'm going to disable the cache & archive it.
I'll put out a new cache in this area soon!

This multi-cache is located on state land around a wetland area valley of Beaver Creek. The stages are small/micro caches, and the final location is a regular sized locking Rubbermaid container. Even if you drive to near each of the cache stages, and you find them quickly, it will take you ~1 1/2hrs plus to complete. If you park in one location & hike all the stages, it will time-waste most of an afternoon. Each stage will give coords of the next, when found- no hints. Good Luck!
Years ago, growing up, I used to bike/hike out here to do some fishing in this secluded area of Beaver Creek where I usually brought home a nice trout or two. Near the final stages, there used to be a large beaver dam that backed up the creek to the point of being a small flood plain wetland upstream- the dam is gone now but the banks of the creek are still plenty mucky.
I also used to fish from the nearby RR track trestle over the creek, which now, the beavers have been recently busy making a new dam underneath! The view from the trestle is spectacular... just be very careful walking across!
The scenery in this seculded area is stunning, particularly in the fall. Be aware of hunters that may be in the area, I ran into a some while placing some of the stages.
As my family used to raise horses nearby, I used to occasionally ride this areas 2-tracks and trails. Today, these trails are still used by locals as a riding area- but a couple of the stages, you will have to secure your horse and hike in some distance on foot.
Beavers have been busy building a new dam under the RR trestle!
Seasonally, some stages may become very wet to hike through. Also depending on the time of year, you may have to bring plenty of bug repellant!
The 2 track trails leading in to the area is accessible easilly by truck, and most cars if driven slowly. The trail is also traveled by atv's, motorcylcles, bicycles, and of course it is very hike-abe. If you are quiet, you may be able to walk up on wildlife that frequent the area (on the day of placing the cache I saw a fox, a porkupine, several deer, turkeys... and a few pilated woodpeckers! Not to mention a circling eagle.) There have been clumps of stinging nettle known to be in the area, and possibly poision ivy... so long pants & good shoes are a must. Good Luck!
