A simple cache to bring you to a beautiful spot where you can enjoy a lovely view.
Take a look at the cache's surroundings and appreciate the efforts of some local volunteer gardeners. A small group of enthusiasts have taken responsibility for maintaining this small corner just off the main highway. A lot of people would just drive by and not even be aware that this small park is here.
Mill Bay is named after the Kauri Mill which used to work across the water (in the lee of the large hill which hosts Rangikapiti Pa). Sadly it is no more, though some locals can point out a few of its wooden piles still showing their stumps at low tide. The bay is now home to many sailing boats, and the Mangonui Cruising Club across the water.
Take in some of the historic signs placed around the bay as you walk along the water's edge and appreciate how busy the place would have been in the 19th Century.
