I am the groundskeeper for Groby and I have introduced a series of Geocaches to show people the hidden areas around the village.
I will be adding more caches over time to produce a series. Caches are placed randomly at present, with the intention of linking them together in the future.
If you are hunting during the week, you may come across me carrying out my duties. Please feel free to come over and introduce yourself.
This area is know as Beacon field, hidden within the housing estate, only known to locals (until now!) and the footpath is a short cut to the local supermarket. This area of the field has been designated as a wildlife corridor, linking the gardens to the field and providing safe passage to other areas. Blackberry picking is common here too! This field has now been leased by the neighbouring school and is used for sports and outdoor activities.
Please note that dogs are NOT allowed on the field but are permitted on the footpath on a lead. You are looking for a small clip-lock container. Parking at supermarket, or at the other end of the footpath on Oakmeadow way.
