Geocache Description:

Bridgewater Exit 12 Carpool Cleanup

Highway 103 - Exit 12 Carpool Parking Lot
Saturday, August 16, 10a.m.-10:30a.m.

Come out for a CITO, help clean up the local environment, and earn the Nature Lover souvenir!

This spring we tackled the carpool parking lot at Exit 13, so now it's time for the one at Exit 12. It's a small area and not too bad when I checked it out, but it could still use a little TLC. With a group of people it should take no more than half an hour to clean the area and nearby road. Garbage bags will be provided. Please bring your own work gloves since I won't have enough for everyone. Any children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

A trackable button for the Nova Scotia CITO events will be available for purchase, as well as a few CITO geocoins. There will be the usual log to sign and some "out"door prizes. Hope to see people there!

The event will start at 10am so people have the rest of the day to go geocaching or do other things. In case of rain, the event will happen Sunday, August 17 at 1pm.
In order to make sure everyone stays safe during the clean up, please note:
  • You should wear closed toe shoes to protect your feet.
  • Any children must be supervised by a parent/guardian to make sure they don't try to pick up anything better left for an adult to handle.
  • Make sure your work gloves are suitable for picking up garbage.
  • There will be blue bags for recyclables, and a bucket for any broken glass or sharp objects that shouldn't go in a garbage bag.
More instructions regarding safety will be given at the event. This event is also registered with the Clean Nova Scotia Great Nova Scotia Pick-Me-Up. You can read their advice on cleanup procedures here.

Hope to see some people there, and if you're going after the 7 Souvenirs of August, it's a chance to earn the Nature Lover one!
