This is 1 of 3 caches placed near the fire road leading from Olive Springs Rd up towards West Ridge Trail. The fire road crosses the creek several times. The creek was about ankle deep. Plenty of rocks were available to cross safely and still stay dry, that's if you have proper balance walking across odd shaped rocks. When you arrive at the cache location, feel free to take that trail as far as you like and report back in your log as to what you found, saw, or whatever.
You'll be looking for a medium size tupperware container. Container is full of usual swag stuff that entertains the children more than the adults, log, but no pen inside.
BRING YOUR OWN PEN
For the record, when I go out caching, I bring a "Pen" and a "GPSr". I take responsibility for logging my find. If I forget a pen and there isn't one in the cache, I don't blame the CO, I blame myself. Please come prepared.
You'll have satelite reception under the trees but it doesn't mean that reception will be accurate. I took a reading while on my way up the hill, and I took another reading a few hours later while on my way down the hill. Both readings were taken within inches of each other but several hours apart. The two readings ended up 60+ feet off (22 meters). I would encourage everyone that finds the cache to include their GZ in their log. I will update the coordinates if I see a growing trend. I then tried to take a couple more readings and triangulate.
YOU KNOW YOU'RE GETTING CLOSE WHEN:
(1) You notice a trailhead off to the left side of the fire road while heading uphill.
(2) You see a tree that's been turned into a bench just before turning left on the trail.
*Cache is between 30 & 50 feet from the intersection of the two trails. Look for the obvious places to search.
