As part of the Calgary Public Library's centennial celebrations in 2012, they launched an exciting initiative - Library Scavenger Hunt - 100 years, 100 treasures. GPS units were available at all library locations which could be used to search for geocaches in the vicinity of each library. Note that they are no longer offering these GPS units for borrowing. Some of these geocaches were existing hides and some were completely new.
This geocache is a multi-cache which means there is more than one stage. However, because some geocachers don't like multi-caches with many stages, this one has less than four and they are all within walking distance of each other. One of the stages is located inside the library and the staff are aware of this.
The Bowness Library moved effective October 1, 2012 to the former Bow Cycle location at 6532 Bowness Road NW.
You must enter the library for one of the stages.
The hours are:
Monday: 1 pm - 8 pm
Tuesday & Wednesday: 10 am - 8 pm
Thursday to Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday: Noon - 5 pm*
*The Library is closed on Sundays between mid-May and mid-September.
The library is also closed on all statutory holidays.
The location of the first stage, which is a small container, is at the posted coordinates and there is information there that will lead you to the next stage. Please don't reveal in your log, details of the final cache, including its location. No waypoint projections or complex calculations are required.
