Hancock County was established in March 1st, 1828. Named after John Hancock (The BIG signature on the Declaration of Independence).
Chutch1035 gladly calls it's county seat, Greenfield, IN, their home.

Every October a festival is thrown in Greenfield, IN celebrating the town's most famous native born celebrity.

From His childhood home in Greenfield, later living in Lockerbie Square in Indianapolis, IN and his final resting place at the highest point in Indianapolis, IN in Crown Hill Cemetery, this children's poets' legacy is world renown.
