MEET & GREET Since many of us will have the day off, we want to get everyone together for a meetup. This will be a great opportunity to gather together with other geocachers to share information, trade & discover trackables, and to get to know some of the faces behind the names that you keep reading on those cache logs.
PARKING: With the University being closed, parking is not a very big issue. Please use the parking coordinates posted so that you are parking in the appropriate lot. Public Safety will be notified of this event and there should not be any issues with ticketing as long as you obey the parking recommendations on this page.
THE VENUE: We have reserved the Woodland Commons building on the UMass Dartmouth Campus for this event. This is the University's conference center and it is capable of hosting 300+ people. The posted coordinates are for the entrance to the building. Registration begins at 1pm. You are welcome to just hang out at the Woodland Commons to connect and share with other geocachers. If you just want to stop in for a few minutes to take a break from the weather, that's fine too.
Cache In Trash Out (CITO): Many places on campus, particularly some of the wooded areas, are strewn with litter. Some areas are really bad. We are asking that if you choose to geocache on campus that you come prepared to CITO (gloves, trash bags, etc.) There are dumpsters all over campus where you can deposit what your collect during the day. This is not a requirement for attendance, but we believe that practicing good stewardship of the lands you visit is an ethic every geocacher can make their own.
"A FISH TALE" group solving Originally we had planned on gathering during this event specifically to brainstorm ideas for solving "A Fish Tale" (GC2Y8CE). With so many geocachers having already solved the puzzle, we feel that the need to focus on this puzzle specifically is no longer necessary. The building does have WIFI access if you would like to bring your own computer to work on the puzzle.
GEOCACHING SUPPLY TRADINGDo you have a lot of one type of cache container lying around? Bring a few to swap and trade with other geocachers!
