Geocache Description:

The Spotted Hyena

The hyena is a relative of the dog and are sometimes seen as the garbage disposals eating almost anything to survive. Their jaws are so strong they are able to crush bones easily. Hyenas and their close relatives are found throughout Africa and the Middle East.

The physical characteristics of a hyena are very different than that of a typical dog though. Their hind legs are much shorter than the front legs which makes the body sppear as if to slope down towards the tail. As the hyena runs it looks as if it is galloping like a horse.

This is a letterbox cache, please do not remove the stamp that is inside. Thank you.
