Come help clean up one of your state parks on a lovely (I hope!) Fall morning.
Ames Nowell is a year-round day use area with recreational activity centered around Cleveland Pond which is popular with boaters and fisherman. Development includes a picnic area, ball field and several miles of trails along the pond edge and the surrounding wood. This park is approximately 700 acres. The last time I was there I didn't see a lot of bulk trash, but picked up 2 small bags worth along a half mile walk or so along the trails. With a few of us willing to help out, we can clean up what's out there in no time!
Please meet near the Ranger Station off Linwood Street at 9am to grab a trash bag and a set of gloves (if you don't have a pair to bring), find out what trail you'll be assigned to, and start pickin up trash! I can't imagine it will take very long, but the event will last until 12 at the latest.
More details as the CITO gets a bit closer...
Please post if you will be attending so I know how many will be able to help!
