Original cache was placed by kalanae: I was on Lanai for vacation (and a little geocaching) when I stumbled across LARC. I thought the place was really cool and would be fun location for a cache! The next day, I met someone on the board (such a small island!!) and she agreed to let me place a cache on the LARC property and they would help maintain it. Use stealth -- some four-legged furry muggles may be watching you through the fence! Meow!
Cache contains a logbook and an unactivated geocoin for the FTF prize! Camouflaged container is large enough for small trackables.
Update as of April 2016:
The Lanai Animal Rescue Center (LARC) has a new name! It is now called the Lāna`i Cat Sanctuary. Their mission remains the same though: To assist animals on the Hawaiian island of Lāna`i by providing sustenance, foster homes, shelter, adoptions, veterinary care, spay/neuter services, and humane education. I hope that if you make your way out here to find the cache, you also take a few minutes to give a little love to the "Hawaiian Lions" (kitties) at the Lāna`i Cat Sanctuary.
