Geocache Description:

Most boating advocates are aware of the many islands throughout Indian River, St Lucie and Martin County and this series gives you the opportunity to enjoy a few of them so this cache can only be accessed by boat. In your journey hopefully you’ll encounter a dolphin or three playing in the lagoon or maybe a manatee and spend some time on the island walking around the water’s edge where you are sure to see all kinds of different sea life. An adventure all ages are sure to enjoy.

This island is known as SL8 and is a recreation island within the IRL Vero Beach-Ft. Pierce Aquatic Preserve. The following activities are allowed: picnicking, fishing, and primitive short term camping and visitors are asked to practice a pack in, pack out policy but this is not always done so as part of our contribution we’ve provided CITO kits in several of the larger cache containers so you can do your part by filling a bag or two.
