Westmere Waters
This is definitely a drive by with plenty of space to park if you are heading south.
Wanganui's first major water supply was from Virginia Lake and then later Westmere Lake. However within a relatively short time the rapidly growing town demanded more water than either of these lakes could provide and a major undertaking took place to pipe water from up the Rangitautau East Road. The water was initially stored in the first reservoir nearest the petrol station until that became too small and had to be extended.
In later years the two round reservoirs were built, not only to keep up with the ever increasing demand for water but also to provide sufficient water for firefighting needs.
There is no need to climb over the fence.
